About Dr. Ali

Dr. Leyla Ali, Pharm. D graduated from University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy in 1998 and has worked in the pharmacy field for almost 20 years. After working in a variety of pharmacy settings, Dr. Ali has become very disappointed with the business side of pharmacy. Patients expect that when a doctor prescribes a medication, that their health will be improved. However, often drugs are prescribed only to maintain poor health without addressing the underlying cause of the condition.  This can create long term customers for doctors, pharmacies and drug companies, but does not necessarily improve a patient’s overall health and wellbeing. 

Dr. Ali is the founder of www.TheButterflyGuide.com, an online holistic directory. Dr. Ali’s vision is to create TheButterflyGuide.com into the most complete holistic directory on the web. She aims to create networks of holistic practitioners in communities. She also envisions holding seminars that will introduce people to alternative solutions for their healthcare needs, along with an online holistic forum. The forum will be helpful in finding solutions for a variety of conditions, and will be derived from other people’s experiences. Readers will be able learn about which holistic treatments worked or didn’t work for the various conditions. For every condition and disease that exists, there also exist stories of those who found better solutions and were able to discontinue their medication.
